PHOENIX, ARIZ. – Dorothy Ellen “Dot” Faught, 92, formerly of Churchville, passed away July 28, 2025.

Dot was born in Highland County, Va. On November 22, 1932, and was a daughter of the late Joe Clark Rexrode and Gladys Viola (Eye) Rexrode. She retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. When her declining health warranted, Dot moved to Phoenix to be near her son Dwight. Prior to her move, she had enjoyed being active in the Churchville community in various ways, including supporting the Health Equipment Loan Program (H.E.L.P.), and participating in activities at the Village Church.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband, William “Boyd” Faught; a daughter, Diana Lynn Faught Puffenbarger; four brothers; three sisters; two half-brothers; and one half-sister. She is survived by a son, Dwight David Faught of Phoenix; sister Peggy Mauzy of Staunton; two grandchildren, Sara Yvonne Puffenbarger Zacharias and husband Vernon, and Benjamin Isaac Faught and wife Anna; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday (August 5) in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville, officiated by Pastor Todd Yoder, Following the service, a meal will be served to the family and close friends in the Churchville Community Center.
