Isaac Forman
Isaac Joseph Forman, 39, of Strasburg, VA passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Center, Kearneysville, WV, after a courageous five-year battle against brain cancer.
Isaac was born on April 3, 1986 in Cambridge, Ohio. He moved to the east coast to study Civil War history at Shepherd University, where he met his wife, Christy. A lifelong lover of history, Isaac worked as a mason for the National Park Service, restoring historic sites around the country, and preserving his legacy for generations to come. He enjoyed visiting battlefields, fishing, and having a beer with friends, and was a faithful member of the 1st Maryland Black Hats of the North-South Skirmish Association. Isaac never met a stranger, and would help anyone in need. His greatest joy in life was being a dad to his two boys.
Isaac is survived by his wife Christy; his sons Ezra and Archer; his father David Forman of Cambridge, OH; his brother Ethan (Heather) Forman, also of Cambridge; his nieces Ellarose and Josie; his nephew Silas; his maternal grandfather Michael Bakos; his uncle Jim Bakos, and aunt Paula Bakos. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Bakos Forman, and maternal grandmother Bonnie Bakos. He will be greatly missed by many cousins, in-laws, and long-time friends.
A funeral mass for Isaac will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, VA.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home in Strasburg, VA on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 6-8 p.m.
