Jean Elizabeth (Wimer) Anderson
Jean Elizabeth (Wimer) Anderson, 91, widow of Eugene Thomas “Andy” Anderson, formerly of Montgomery Road in Staunton, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Waynesboro Manor nursing home.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Churchville, Virginia on August 4, 1933, a daughter of the late Alford Glenn Wimer and Effie Florence (Sponaugle) Wimer.
Jean retired from Western State Hospital and was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking, watching soap operas, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her husband of 71 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Anderson was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving, is a son, Larry W. Anderson and his wife, Vicky of Staunton; a daughter, Judy (Anderson) Williams and her husband, Scott of Mechanicsville; four grandchildren, Justin Anderson, Erin (Anderson) Shiflett and her husband, Robbie, Chase Williams and his husband Dillon Whitlow, and Kenzi (Williams) Flinchum and her husband, Beau; and four great-grandchildren, Teagan Shiflett, Addison Shiflett, Banks Flinchum, and Andie Ray Flinchum.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the residence of Larry and Vicky, 51 Montgomery Road, Staunton.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 in Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor Jacob Singleton.
Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Justin, Erin, Chase, Kenzi, Teagan and Addison.
It is suggested those desiring send memorial contributions to the Third Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1313 Barterbrook Road, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
