Bobby Lee Dull
STAUNTON – Bobby Lee Dull, 89, of 72 Hudson Ave. died Sunday morning (December 8, 2024) in his home.
Born September 4, 1935 in Staunton, he was the son of Albert Alexander and Janet Lucille (Coffey) Dull.
He was a 1953 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. Bobby retired from Western State Hospital after many years of service in boiler-room maintenance. He was an avid hunter and was particularly proud of his prized, mounted bear, affectionately dubbed “Prince Albert.” Bobby also enjoyed meticulously caring for his vehicles and lawn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Chlowella “Pat” Byrd Dull; stepson Rusty Fink; stepdaughters Linda Bussard and Vivian Cole; step granddaughter Tracey Cash; and devoted friend Bruce Cole.
Bobby is survived by a daughter, Denise Roberts and husband James of Buena Vista; grandchildren Brandy Southard and husband Andy of Churchville, and Brian Wade and wife Rebecca of Louisa; great-grandson Deacon Southard; stepdaughter Joan Fink; step grandsons Doug and David Cole, Victor Bussard and Carson Fink; and a number of special friends, including Bruce Wade, Junior Conner and Wallace Lotts.
A service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 11 in the mausoleum chapel of Oak Lawn Memory Gardens, officiated by Pastor Lester Kennedy.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38104-1942.
The family is grateful for the tireless devotion of Carson Fink and Joan Fink; and for the thoughtful care given by Augusta Health Hospice staff, especially nurse Ashlie, nurse’s aide Melissa, and social worker Brianna.
