Loretta "Jo" M Roadcap

Loretta "Jo" M. Huffman Roadcap passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Sentara RMH after an extended illness.

She was born on July 25, 1952, in Arlington, VA to the late Charles S. and Bessie M. (Schilling) Huffman.

Jo graduated in 1970 from West Springfield High School in Springfield, VA. She moved to the valley in 1980. For many years she worked for Perdue, then as a teacher's aide at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren Daycare, and Stewart Middle School as an aide to special needs children. She had a heart for children and derived great fulfillment working with them.

Jo was a strong, fun loving, independent, creative woman and never met a stranger.

Her greatest joy was raising her son, Cody. Loretta will be missed greatly by family and friends.

On May 25, 1989, she married Douglas Roadcap, who preceded her in death on January 15, 2015.

She is survived by her son, Cody Roadcap, two sisters, Betty Callahan and Charlotte Pulling & husband Ray, and numerous other family members.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgewater.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
