Ralph Sandy Lam
Ralph Sandy Lam, 92, of Churchville, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Bridgewater Home.
He was born on December 6, 1931 and was a son of the late E. Roger and Myrtle (Sandy) Lam.
Ralph retired from Unfi where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a longtime member of Parnassus Church, and delighted in ringing the church bell to start services each Sunday. He was active in the United Methodist Men's group where he served as treasurer for many years. Ralph enjoyed farming most all his life. He graduated from Linville Edom High School. He was active in the Parnassus-Moscow Senior Citizens group and the Shenandoah Valley Coin Club.
Ralph was united in marriage on December 18, 1955 to Edith (DePoy) Lam.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Sandy Lam Collins and husband Steve, Randy Lam, and Rodney Lam; four grandchildren, Jennifer Allmon, Emily Belknap, Aaron Lam, and Stephanie Lam; four great grandchildren, Lilly Allmon, Lainey Allmon, Everly Belknap, and Adelyn Belknap; six brothers, Lynwood Lam, Herbert Lam, Dan Lam, Sam Lam, Marvin Lam, and Dallas Lam; a sister, Frances Shank; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Altizer and Marietta Helprey.
A service celebrating Ralph's life will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Parnassus Church with Pastor Shawn Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Parnassus Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgewater.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parnassus Church Cemetery.
