Bernice M. Nelson

Bernice Maxine Nelson, 91, of Paw Paw, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.

She was a resident of English Meadows Senior Living in Crozet, Virginia.

Bernice was born November 7, 1932 at Paw Paw to the late Edward Bruce Gulbronson and Pansy Virginia (Ryan) Gulbronson.

In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Lehman Edward Nelson, and her brothers, Don Franklin Gulbronson, and Neil Kyle Gulbronson.

She is survived by –

Three granddaughters – 

Laura Oetgen and her husband, William

Kara Nelson

Kayla Nelson

Two great-grandchildren – 

Nora and Everett Oetgen

Her sister – 

Janet Catlett and her husband, Denny

Her sister-in-law – 

Carole Gulbronson

And several nieces and nephews

Bernice was most happy when she was with her family.  She especially enjoyed spending holidays with her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, March 8 at Kimble Funeral Home, 188 Moser Avenue, Paw Paw, and again on Saturday, March 9 from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday.

Interment will be at Camp Hill Cemetery in Paw Paw.
